When a merchant gives you a refund, the funds come back to your Bitzaro Card USD balance. This article explains how merchant refunds, partial refunds and cancelled-purchase refunds work, and the timing you should expect.
How a merchant refund works
The merchant submits the refund through the same Visa network used for the original payment.
Once Bitzaro receives the refund from the network, the funds are credited to your card USD balance, usually within 5–10 business days from the merchant's side.
You will see the refund in Transaction History tagged Refund, with a link back to the original purchase.
Partial refunds
Merchants can send a refund for less than the original amount (for example, if you returned only one item).
The refunded amount is credited in USD at the time the merchant releases it, the FX rate is set by the network at that moment, not by your original purchase.
This means a refund value can differ slightly from the original charge if the underlying currency moved between the two events. The merchant cannot adjust this on Bitzaro's side.
Cancellations and authorisation reversals
If a merchant cancels a payment before it settles, your card simply releases the hold, no refund transaction is created. The funds become available again automatically, usually within 1–7 days.
If a merchant fully voids a settled payment, the refund follows the standard 5–10 business day window.
Refunds and crypto
Note: Crypto-to-fiat conversions are final and non-reversible. A refund returns USD to your card balance, it is not converted back into the exact USDT amount you originally reloaded with. If you want to bring the refund back to your wallet, move the USD from your card and it will be converted to USDT at the live rate at that moment. |
If a refund hasn't arrived
Confirm the refund timing with the merchant. They should be able to give you a refund reference number.
Wait 10 full business days from the merchant's confirmation date — international refunds can be slower.
If the refund still has not arrived, contact [email protected] with the original transaction reference, the merchant's refund reference and any email confirmation. We will trace it on the network.
Refunds on a cancelled card
If your card has been cancelled, refunds may still arrive — Bitzaro will hold them and contact you to redirect them to your wallet.
If your card has been replaced (lost or stolen), refunds for the old card number are routed to your active card automatically by the network in most cases. If the merchant rejects this, ask them to refund to the new card or via bank transfer.
