Fraud & Scam Awareness Guide

Fraudsters use various tactics to deceive users into transferring funds or revealing sensitive information. Understanding common scams can help you identify and avoid potential risks.

1. Common scam types

a) Phishing scams

  • Fraudulent emails, messages, or websites designed to steal login credentials or personal information.

b) Impersonation scams

  • Scammers posing as Bitzaro staff, partners, or trusted individuals to request information or transfers.

c) Investment or high-return scams

  • Promises of guaranteed or unusually high returns with little or no risk.

d) Fake promotions or rewards

  • Requests for upfront payments to unlock rewards, bonuses, or airdrops.

e) Crypto–fiat conversion scams

  • Offers to exchange cryptocurrency and fiat through unofficial or unverified channels.

f) Fake platforms or applications

  • Fraudulent websites or apps designed to mimic legitimate services and steal user information.

2. Red flags to watch for

Be cautious if you encounter:

  • Requests for passwords, OTPs, or sensitive information;

  • Pressure to act urgently or make immediate transfers;

  • Offers that appear too good to be true;

  • Requests to transfer funds to personal or unknown accounts; and

  • Communication from unofficial or unverified channels.

These are common indicators of fraudulent activity.

3. How to avoid scams

  • Use only official Bitzaro platforms and verified channels;

  • Verify all payment details before making any transfer;

  • Do not engage with unknown individuals offering financial services;

  • Avoid transferring funds based on unsolicited messages;

  • Enable security features such as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA); and

  • Always verify promotions or announcements through official sources.

Fraud prevention relies on vigilance and verification before taking action.

4. Safe transaction practices

  • Only transfer funds to verified and authorised accounts;

  • Avoid sending funds to personal or third-party accounts;

  • Double-check recipient details before confirming transactions; and

  • Keep records of all transactions for reference.

Unverified transfers are a common method used in scam schemes.

5. What Bitzaro will NOT do

Bitzaro will never:

  • Request your password, OTP, or sensitive credentials;

  • Ask you to transfer funds to unknown or personal accounts;

  • Require upfront payments to unlock rewards or services; and

  • Contact you through unofficial channels requesting confidential information.

6. If you encounter a scam

If you suspect any fraudulent activity:

  • Do not proceed with the transaction;

  • Secure your account immediately; and

  • Report the incident via Bitzaro’s official channels.

Timely reporting helps prevent further losses and supports investigation efforts.

Staying informed and exercising caution are key to preventing fraud. Always verify before you act, and avoid engaging with unverified parties or offers that seem too good to be true.
